Today, I feel gratitude for....

Keeping my cool when the earthquake tremors made the water in the glass on my desk at the hotel tremble.

D. showing me a great market with so many vendors offering yummy things for me to pick for dinner last night.  He had to go back to work for a reception.

My first good night's sleep for almost a week.  I felt refreshed when I awoke.

Finding a street musician that reminded me of those on Treme, one of our favorite TV shows.  He let me take his picture - quite a colorful character.

Comfortable sandals that allowed me to walk around Philadelphia for several hours before my feet started talking to me about returning to the hotel.

Dear Lord, the world is full of so many interesting things that you have to marvel from your vantage point.  I know there are contrasts where improvements need to/can be made and I'm happy to help in whatever way I can, but I appreciate my growing understanding that everything doesn't have to fit my definition of perfect in order for it to be perfect for others.  Help me to grow in this area and be ever mindful of opportunities to help where help is needed and recognize when to offer and when to refrain.  Amen

Today, I feel gratitude for....

Recognizing that I have been dropping the ball on my postings - am re-dedicating myself to daily postings!

Closing on our re-fi finally yesterday.  Yippee.

A safe and uneventful drive to Philadelphia for D's conference.

The desk clerk that guided me to one of the best Chinese restaurants ever.  China Town begins right outside the hotel door.  D had a reception for his conference.  I had hunger pains!  Brought some back for him to eat when he returned to the hotel - food, not hunger pains.

Not freaking out when I discovered one of the "clean" glasses in our hotel room actually had lip marks on it....eeiiiuuwww!  Went to the convenience store across the street and bought plastic cups!  :-)

Dear Lord, I'm feeling sort of like I'm roaming the desert for 30 days and 30 nights.  I'm seeing lots of interesting things, but also encountering challenges and choices.  Thank you for being with me on this journey and helping me to make the right choices.  Thank you for all the blessings I have received from the lovely people I am encountering along the path.  Help me to be a good representation of the type of person you want me to be, in order to reflect your love and compassion.   Amen

Today, I feel gratitude for....

Getting home to WV from Maryland safely, despite the best efforts of three crazy drivers at three separate places trying to run me off the road.

Being able to catch a photo of a place I have been watching for three years, to mimic the calm reflective water on the pond that I've seen before, when I have camera in hand as I drive by.

The miniature railroad man allowing me to take photos of his wonderful train set-up that allows him to take a hobby and expand it to sharing with little kids.

Organizing all my supplements and medications for the travel week ahead and setting up the crock pot for my special bai he/astragalus tea my doctor says I have to drink every day.  I'll be able to take it with me to Philadelphia because we are driving - no airport security confiscating my stuff!

Discovery today that Mercury has been in retrograde for almost three weeks.  Explains a lot!

Hello, God!  This is Jane.  I'm feeling a little scattered today, so ask that you help me pause, take a big breath and chill for a bit.  I thank you for all the little blessings that have been sprinkled throughout my day.  I would like to add my prayers to those of J in dealing with ______.  I think J would really like to move on.  Thanks.  Please help me to be aware of areas where I can be of service to you and easily provide the support needed.  Until tomorrow......

Today, I feel gratitude for....

A safe journey back to the East Coast yesterday, after several false starts from flight delays.

A taxi driver that shared his childhood memories of the East side of Austin, so we could really visualize the changes as we drove through on the way to the airport.

Being surrounded by families with quiet children on the plane.  A peaceful flight!

So many interesting local artist displays, neat retail stores and yummy food at the Austin airport.  Who would have thought an airport could be so interesting - which was good given the flight delays.

Being married to a really kind man, who just happens to be really smart too!  He keeps me on my toes!

Thank you Lord, for always being present as I move through my day.  Thank you for helping me to understand what is really important in my life and setting aside minor inconveniences.  You must be working very diligently on my travel attitudes, because we are doing a lot of travel with a minimum of inconvenience.  Help me to reflect your Light and Joy to others around me, so that perhaps I can have a positive impact on challenges they might be experiencing.  Help me to remain organized as I prepare for our next set of travel plans that culminate in sharing J & S's wedding festivities.  They've worked so hard to make it memorable for their guests, as well as themselves.  Amen

Today, I feel gratitude for....

An inspiring niece that provided me with an accountability format for gratitude.
K and JD for providing professional support in our search for homes in Austin.
A safe, clean place to stay while visiting Austin - that also includes breakfast!
A husband who really just wants me to be happy and is willing to do whatever is in his power to make life easier for me.
The opportunity these past few days to really explore the area to cement our desire to move here to retire.

Dear Lord - You hear from me everyday in many ways, but I believe this approach will really make me more sensitive to the positives so that the negatives just roll away.  I am so grateful for all my family and friends, their support during an especially challenging time with the eldercare abuse situation that is finally resolved - they are safe now.  Thank you for the great experiences this week as we begin establishing our transition to this area.  The doors are flying open and I appreciate Your guidance.
Amen
